The Cupcake Tour

Hi readers!  My Mom, my brother, and I went on a Great New York Tours cupcake tour! It was so much fun and one of the most fun New York things we have done in a while. We all met in Union Square and met our group and wonderful tour guide Mallory. She knows a lot about cupcakes, played lots of trivia games with us and even had a cupcake hat on! Our first stop was Baked By Melissa, located at 14th street between Union Square and Fifth Avenues. Everyone on the tour is given a mini of the month cupcake or you can buy more cupcakes at any of the stops if you'd like to.  I wrote about Baked by Melissa in a previous post.

Next we stopped at Crumbs located on University Place between 13th and 14th streets! Crumbs is the biggest chain of cupcake stores in the world. Mallory brought out cases of the bestseller cupcakes for the tour to sample. I had a "Hostess" cupcake and my brother had a Oreo cupcake and a vanilla one with rainbow sprinkles. They were good!   Update 1/15: This place is under new ownership!

Since it was on our way to our next cupcake shop, we stopped at Amorino located on University Place between 10th and 11th streets!
They sell crepes, waffles and gelato which why we stopped there. It was so good! They have another location in the Louvre in Paris! Next, we all walked to Molly's Cupcakes which sells cupcakes and donates its proceeds to many schools! It's located on Bleecker Street between Carmine and Sixth Avenues! Molly was named for the Owner's Third grade teacher. I think my teachers are great too! We learned the art of cupcakes as we had the chance to create our own cupcakes! That was my favorite of all the stops especially since we had never been there before. It was such an adorable place, we didn't want to leave!
Then we made our final stops at Milk and Cookies and Magnolia Bakery! We were given salted cookies with white chocolate chips and red velvet cupcakes.  By this time, we were all pretty stuffed so Mallory gave us boxes of everything to go. She also told us lots of cupcake jokes.
After our tour, our family made some finals stops at Bantam Bagels (which may be featured in a future post, it was so good!) and John's Pizza! Our cupcake tour was so great, I highly recommend it and our tour leader, Mallory! There's even a deal for the tour on Groupon.
Signing out, Andrew
PS. Our tour went through Union Square and  Washington Square Park and other parts of Greenwich Village, some of my favorite areas!

Update: 7/20/14 Crumbs has officially closed this location!
