Foodie Meets Chef

Hi readers! Today I had so much fun being a part of an advertisement for Kellogg's with one of my favorite chefs, Christina Tosi. It is expected to air on YouTube in a month or two. I shot it in front of her UWS store on Columbus Ave. between 87th and 88th Streets.
Chef Christina Tosi is a judge for MasterChef and MasterChef Junior (Two of my favorite tv shows) and pastry-chef/ owner of Momofuko Milk Bar, where I will be ordering my birthday cake next month.
The name Momofuko translates into 'Lucky Peach'. Originally, Chef David Chang opened up the restaurant as Momofuko Noodle Bar. Christina Tosi was a worker for co-business Ssรคm Bar which opened after Momfuko Noodle Bar's success. Chef Tosi later became  pastry chef/owner/founder of Momofuko Milk Bar, which now has seven locations in New York and Toronto. In addition to their famous cakes (the birthday cake is my favorite!), they sell the popular "crack pie" the best-selling "cereal milk" ice cream, fantastic cookies and a variety of yummy baked goods.

Always a fan of Momofuku, I lucked out today that they were looking for kids to film with Chef Tosi for 'Kellogg's Cereal Bar' advertisements. The point of the ads with Chef Tosi is that by adding fun and creative ingredients to Kellogg's cereals, you can enjoy your breakfast and get a more delicious spin on your morning cereal.
Chef Tosi was wonderful. After telling her some of my tastes and that I was up for all of her recommendations, she had a idea of what I would like in my cereal. The end product was amazing! She started with my favorite Kellogg's cereals; Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes and then added strawberries, raspberries, coconut flakes and caraway seeds! She even put in her favorite house/made 'Cereal Milk' which is milk mixed in with Frosted Flakes.
Even though she had not met me before this experience, she knew exactly what I would like and knew my taste. It truly was the best cereal I have ever tasted. I can't wait to make it again.
After I shot my video, we went into Momofuko Milk Bar and purchased Chef Tosi's latest cookbooks which she happily signed.

We also took home the Kellogg's Cereal Bar mug and spoon that I ate from in the ad.

See you on my next journey, Andrew
