The Village Chocolate Bar

Hello again Readers! Today I went to the chocolate bar, located on 8th Avenue and 12th Street!

This small shop was founded by Alison Nelson. When Ms. Nelson sipped her first coffee at age 8, she fell in love with pouring chocolate and coffee.

One thing that is cool about her is that she has a daughter about my age, 11. She also has a younger son. Here is a photo of her daughter that hangs in the chocolate bar taken when she was little.
I originally spotted this cute place a while back when passing it in a taxi leaving the nearby Bantam Bagels. When you walk in you feel like you're  in a world of cocoa. In the chocolate bar you will find truffles, chocolate bars, chocolate lollipops, ice cream, baked goods and beverages like coffee, and their best selling liquid chocolate.

Their liquid chocolate is served hot in the winter and cold for the high temperature days of summer. I spoke to Salom and Mary, two great employees who gave me a taste of the best-selling sea salt dark chocolate. It was great! The chocolate covered pretzel rods were a big hit with my brother! I can't wait to come back and try the liquid chocolate and the ice cream!!
They also told me that they have been in the neighborhood for 13 years! Prior to that, they were in a different location on Jane and Horatio Streets. Let's make sure to keep this store open for many more years! See you next time, Andrew
